American Indian Youth Agricultural Camp
Dates: June 26-30
Grades: Rising 9th – 11th graders
Cost: Free
This year’s American Indian Youth Agricultural Camp is inspired by the museum project of the same name featured at the Museum of the Southeast American Indian “Life By The River.”Through immersive experiences, campers will learn about the cultural significance of the Lumber River through indigenous traditions, science, nature, and culture. Students will engage in programming such as fishing, constructing tools with natural objects including river shells, kayaking, farm to table foods and much more. Each activity is linked to the goals of the project, which aim to demonstrate how Native people have long been connected to our indigenous waters.
