Transfer Admission Requirements

Over 21 Years of Age

  • Students must meet a minimum 2.0 cumulative college GPA for all college courses as calculated by the UNC Pembroke Undergraduate Admissions Office

Under 21 Years of Age

  1. All students under the age of 21 by the time of enrollment are required to meet the freshman high school GPA and have passed the following high school classes (referred to as MCR)**:
    • 4 units of English
    • 4 units of math (Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2 and a math beyond Algebra II)
    • 3 units of science (biological science, physical science and a science with a lab)
    • 2 units of social studies (1 unit must be U.S. History)
    • 2 units of the same foreign language

    **Students who did not take/pass all of these high school classes are required to complete 24 transferable semester hours from a regionally accredited institution with an overall GPA of 2.0.

  2.  If a student is only deficient in one area (either high school GPA or MCR), they may complete 12 transferable semester hours of general education from a regionally accredited institution with an overall GPA of 2.5. If a student is deficient in both areas (high school GPA and MCR) they must complete 24 transferable semester hours from a regionally accredited institution with an overall GPA of 2.0.
