What is first-generation?
GenONE has defined the term “first-generation college student” as a person that is the first in their family to attend college and/or neither parent or guardian graduated from a four year institution. This definition is in coordination with the federal definition used from TRIO and Pell Grant eligibility programs.

How do I self-identify as first-generation?
If you identify as first-generation, you can complete the form below to self-identify with us and join GenONE. Once you identify you will have exclusive access to success coaching, resources, programs and peer mentoring for first year students. If you have completed your FAFSA, you had to indicate weather or not you were first-generation. If you selected yes, you should already be listed as first-generation with UNCP.
