Summer Fun Kits

Summer Fun Craft Kit Update:

Wow!!! Thank you all so much for your interest in the summer fun kits. Requests far exceeded our expectations. Because supplies are limited, we have reached the maximum for orders.

Now that we know how many folks are interested, we will work hard to continue this program in the coming weeks. Please watch the museums Facebook page and website for updates.

For those that have ordered, please be sure to check the mail for your kits.

If you would like to participate in the workshop, but were unable to order a kit, we will post supply lists in advance to purchase your own materials and create with us.

We will work hard to identify resources to continue this program. Thank you all for your support!

Since you can’t come to us, we will come to you! Enjoy learning through making American Indian crafts this summer. The museum will mail you materials to make crafts such as corn husk dolls, freshwater pearl bracelets, pottery and other fun activities.

Starting Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at 11 a.m., and every Wednesday through the first of August, join museum educator, Alisha Locklear Monroe on Facebook Live where she will host a virtual workshop teaching you how to make the crafts. Don’t worry if you can’t join the virtual workshops, step-by-step instructions are included in the kits.

Request your kits on our website at uncp.edu/museum or call 910-521-6282. Click on the request a summer kit button and fill out the request form. Materials will be mailed to you a week prior to the workshop. If you would like to pick up your kit, park in front of Old Main on the campus of UNC Pembroke. The Museum is located on the first floor.
