Chris Maples began his new role as the Executive Director of External Affairs at UNC Pembroke on February 1. Chris is a U.S. veteran, a two-time UNC Pembroke graduate, and was an active member on our Board of Visitors.
Charlyne Jacobs is a lieutenant colonel in the North Carolina Army National Guard. Jacobs enlisted in the Army National Guard in 1999 and began her commissioned service in 2003 after graduating from Officer Candidate School.

Jesse Oxendine graduated in 1951 with a degree in education. Before graduating from UNCP, he served with distinction in the United States Army's 82nd Airborne Division. During the Second World War, he liberated the Wobbelin concentration camp in Germany.
Angela Jones, of Lumberton, earned an undergraduate degree in criminal justice and a graduate degree in professional school counseling, both from UNCP.
Nikki Brooks earned a Master of School Administration from UNC Pembroke in 2006, Brooks currently serves as Elementary School Principal at Rex-Rennert Elementary School

East Bladen Athletic Director Patty Evers has been honored with the Charlie Adams Distinguished Service Award. This is the 11th year that the North Carolina High School Athletic Association’s Board of Directors has presented the award.
