Canvas
Make sure you check Canvas on the first day of class for important information. Instructors use Canvas to post assignments, grades, and announcements. Please visit https://www.uncp.edu/resources/division-information-technology/canvas for more information on Canvas and to view training videos.
Additionally, once you log into Canvas using your UNCP credentials there is a module you can click on to learn more about the system.

Canvas is mobile-friendly. Instructure offers apps for students and instructors across Android and iOS.

BraveNation Lingo
BraveWeb: students may register for courses, pay tuition, check grades and complete a host of other services.
Brave Mail: This is your personal UNCP email. Most professors and instructors will only contact you via this account. You will also receive your tuition bills and financial aid information here
The UC: This acronym is used in reference to the University Center. The UC houses a bowling alley, Chick-fil-A, and meeting spaces for organizations, along with some student services offices.
Dial: This is a building on campus that houses the English Department. So if you see Dial on your schedule, don't pick up the phone and dial the number next to it! That is just the room number!
CCE: The Office of Community and Civic Engagement encourages students to give back to the local community and to be an advocate for change.
GPAC: The Givens Performing Arts Center plays host to numerous events every year. Such events include Broadway musicals, speakers, and musical acts.
Hawk Alert: is designed to identify students who are having academic difficulty at any point in their academic career. By identifying these students, the Center for Academic Excellence can address their needs, thereby increasing the likelihood of their success. If you get sent a Hawk Alert, follow up immediately.
Braves Card: This card services as both your UNCP ID and your dining account.
PAC: The Pembroke Activities Council works to bring exciting entertainment to The University of North Carolina at Pembroke that will help enrich campus life. This is a student-run organization.
The Pine Needle: This is the campus newspaper.
The Indian Head: This is the campus Yearbook. Make sure you get your picture taken. Watch E-announcements in your Bravemail for the date.
