UNC Pembroke is very proud to be a designated military-friendly university. Our Admissions staff stands ready to assist active duty service members, veterans, and military family members. We also have a dedicated Military and Veterans Services Office, a VA Certifying Official and other support agencies to ease your transition from the military to college life.

Active Duty Service Members and Veterans
If you are active duty, a veteran, a reservist or a member of the National Guard, just show us or provide us a copy of your military ID or DD-214 and application fees are waived.
If you have completed three or more years of active duty service you will be considered a transfer student for admission purposes. You must request and provide to us a Joint Services Transcript. Also, for active duty military, the high school transcript requirement is waived if:
- the student holds an AA or AS degree or
- the student is at least 24 years of age and has completed at least 30 semester hours of college level transferable work from a regionally accredited institution with a 2.0 or higher transfer GPA.
